The Lawyer's Game: out today!

Good morning! I am so excited to announce that my latest book, The Lawyer’s Game, is now live!

"You know, Bert," James began, leaning back and swirling the amber liquid in his glass, "it’s been too long since we had a real adventure. This little ski trip of yours might actually do the trick."

Bertram forced a smile. He’d known James for nearly twenty years—long enough to recognize when his charm was veiling something sharp. "It’s just a weekend, James. Some skiing, a few drinks, and no corporate sharks circling. That’s the point."

James grinned, wolfish. "Skiing, drinks, and what else? You can’t expect me to sit around playing board games with your lawyer buddies. 

Bertram’s stomach tightened. He should’ve known James wouldn’t let the weekend pass without some sort of conquest. "It’s not that kind of trip," he said, voice steady.

"Oh, come on." James leaned forward, the grin still plastered on his face. "You can’t tell me that Helen won’t be there. Pretty, young, and probably bored out of her mind hanging out with you lot. She’s practically begging for a little excitement."

Bertram set his fork down, the clang echoing louder than he intended. "She’s not a part of your games, James."

James shrugged, unbothered by the edge in Bertram’s voice. "Everything’s a game, Bert. The only question is, who’s playing and who’s being played?"

The words lingered between them, heavy with unspoken implications. Bertram felt a chill, one that had nothing to do with the mountain air. He’d seen James destroy businesses, ruin careers, and smile while doing it. This time, it wasn’t a deal on the line—it was a person.
