Christa’s hands trembled as she logged into the bank account she shared with Ben. Joint account, they’d called it. A partnership. But when the numbers appeared on the screen, she felt her stomach drop. The balance was far lower than it should have been.

She scrolled through the list of transactions, her pulse racing faster with each withdrawal she didn’t recognize. ATM. ATM.
